Trainingscamp South Africa 2004
10 february 2004 - Guido was on trainingscamp from january 20th until february 9th. This camp was organised by the Dutch Triathlon Federation (NTB) and was held in Potchefstroom. This town at 1550m altitude has very good trainingsfacilities and sees a lot of international athletes coming to train. The dutch team consisted of Yoeri Severin, Eric  van der Linden, Wieke Hoogzaad, Raymond Lotz, with the addition of Belgian Mieke Suys en Jasper Reenalda, trainingspartner of Guido. Sander Berk was already in Potchefstroom, living there together with his South African girlfriend Venitia. Fysiotherapists Kornelis Bijlsma and Tim Rost supervised the (fitness-)trainingsessions and took care of all fysio- and massage needs. In the last week Adrie Berk managed the camp and took care of the swim technique training.

Guido and Jasper, both training on scheme's of Johan Boonstra, had almost identical programs. Emphasize was on the long distance bike rides. Every week two long rides were done, the longest was 6h30min. In three weeks Guido biked over 1400 km. Here you can see the foto-report of this camp.

Eric van der Linden en Joeri Severin 800m wedstrijd in Potchefstroom
Eric van der Linden and Yoeri Severin sought cooling in the swimming pool.
Joeri Janssen  from Belgium won an 800m race in Potchefstroom in 1.46,5.
